Note: Approved by the Chicago Board of Education together with the 2026-27 calendar (CPS community letter of February 27, 2026). K-12 starts Monday, August 23, 2027; PreK starts Tuesday, August 24, 2027 and ends Thursday, June 8, 2028. Professional development days and the Parent-Teacher Conference Days (November 2, 2027 and April 13, 2028) are non-attendance days for students. November 22-24 are marked 'No students or teachers in school' and November 25-26 are the Thanksgiving Holiday. June 13-16 and June 20, 2028 are emergency days: school is in session only if student days fall below the state requirement; Juneteenth (June 19) is a holiday. High school graduations cannot be held before May 26, 2028, elementary graduations not before June 5, 2028.
