Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information School Break Dates (https://schoolbreakdates.com) collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. We do not require accounts and we never ask for your name, address or your child’s information.
1. What we collect
- Anonymous usage counts. Our own counter records page views, time on page and clicks such as “download calendar” or “share”. It uses a random ID kept in your browser’s storage (not a cookie) and does not record IP addresses. If you reject cookies in our banner, no ID is kept and only the session is counted.
- Google Analytics 4. Aggregate statistics such as pages viewed, device type and approximate region.
- Correction reports. If you use the “report a wrong date” form, we store what you wrote and, only if you give it, your email address so we can reply. We delete report emails once the report is resolved.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request data briefly to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell visits apart. If advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. We use Google Consent Mode: visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland see a consent banner, and analytics and advertising cookies stay off until they accept. Your choice is stored in your browser as sbd:consent. To change it, clear this site’s data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again.
3. Advertising
To keep the site free we may show ads served by Google. Google may use cookies to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads at Google Ad Settings. Ads never appear inside the date tables.
4. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA) and “Do Not Sell or Share”
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out at any time with the button below, and we also honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser. When you opt out, we turn off ad personalization and ad user data in Google’s tags on this device.
California residents may also request access to or deletion of personal information we hold (in practice, only a correction report and the email you gave us). Write to hello@schoolbreakdates.com; we answer within 45 days and do not discriminate against anyone for using these rights. Residents of other states with similar laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas) can use the same address.
5. Children
The site is written for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through the correction form, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers named here (Cloudflare for hosting and our own counter’s database; Google for analytics and ads) or when required by law.
7. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and adjust the date at the top.
